Tomorrow (Thursday) I’ll be re-opening my PLR membership at a temporary reduced price, and I’ll reveal that price now.  It’s just $27 a month for PLR to TWO product sets.

Or put another way, it works out as $13.50 each…  😉

But that price is only valid until I fill up my remaining slots to make the membership viable for me to continue to run.  (It’s been touch and go.)

Each month you’ll get PLR to 5 sales page designs, PLUS additional PLR to either a WordPress plugin or theme, or a PHP script or other program, or a special report or video set created by me.

First I’d like to give you a bit of background about the membership.  I opened it in November last year, and everything went fine until about March when my one and only designer took an office job in Singapore.  He still does some part time work for me.

Then I had to fire one of my plugin developers as he was supposedly working full time for me and (when he slipped up) we found out he was also working “full time” for one of my friends.  (No wonder he was getting slower and slower…)

This left me with a full time plugin developer and a part time designer.

And then to make matters worse, my remaining developer decided to go look for an office job too and also went part time in June.

While this was all going on I just couldn’t find the right people to fill the gaps left behind and from April until now I’ve been struggling to fulfill the promise of 2 monthly PLR products as part of the membership.

It even got to the stage last month where I’d just about decided to close up shop on the membership as I couldn’t see how I could continue to deliver products like I had been – I’m certainly not a designer or a plugin developer.

And then out of the blue I picked up two new designers, one of whom can create WordPress themes.  Hurrah!

I then (by accident) found a part timer who is now in training to become my full time PA and Project Manager in March 2012.

But the icing on the cake is I also found a new full time coder, AND just this week my part time developer has increased her weekly hours to almost full time.

Suddenly I have a full set of staff and that makes the membership viable again.  And I also have enough “give” in there to make sure that if someone leaves then the membership won’t suffer like it has this year.

To kick off the relaunch of the membership with a bang tomorrow, I’m adding in some extras.  So instead of you joining and getting one month’s worth of products, I’m including a few more bits and pieces too.

The current product set is for August, but I’ve left July’s active too.  September’s will be ready next week.

So when you join tomorrow, you not only get July and August’s membership products, you’ll also get September’s too when I add it in a few days time.

That’s THREE months worth of membership in this first month.  (For existing members I’ll put something else in so you don’t feel left out.)

YouTube, 720P and Private Videos

I opened a new YouTube account recently so that I could show videos on the Warrior Forum as it seems that’s the only way you can do it.

I have to say I’ve found it quite useful.  There have been a few good changes since I registered my first account a few years ago, and one of those is that you can view videos at 720p.  The really interesting thing about this is that if you have the bandwidth, 720p actually loads faster than the default 360p.

Pop it up to full screen at 720p, and the quality is so good it’s getting very close to the quality I recorded it at.  Great stuff.

And…

You can turn off ads!

How many videos have I watched and thought “Flaming Google putting ads everywhere!”  Now I’ve found out it’s not Google at all, it’s the individual user turning them on.

You can even make videos private, although I’ve not tried that yet.

In all this now means I can do a pile of tutorial videos (optionally for staff only if I make them private I guess) and you can watch them at really high quality without sucking any bandwidth from my server.

I wonder if the whole private video thing also lets us share them automatically to individuals via an API?  That would be really cool wouldn’t it?  You wouldn’t need a dedicated server or Amazon S3 to store your videos for your members, you could just use YouTube’s storage and bandwidth instead.

If it’s possible, there’s another product idea eh?  😉

Building A List Of Buyers

Where could you possibly get new buyers in the Internet Marketing niche on your mailing list and only pay 50 cents or less per lead?

Or in my case, pay nothing at all. In fact I made a few hundred dollars on the front, much to my surprise.

Think about this for a moment now… If you could pay 50 cents for a new buyer on your mailing list, and then sell them something for a dollar, you’re ahead of the game.

Let’s put it another way.

If you could stand on a busy street corner handing out 50 cents to everyone you meet and have them give you a dollar in return a couple of days later, how many people would you give the 50 cents to? ;-)[br][br]

And how about if they gave you another dollar a couple of weeks later? And then again another couple of weeks after that.

That’s what I’m talking about.

I have to clarify here though. It’s not the same person giving you a dollar and then another and another, but when you do the maths that’s what it works out as.

Put another way, you pay 50 cents per buyer on your list, and you get 10 of them. A few days later one of them gives you $10. A couple of weeks after that, a different one gives you $10. And so on.

The effect is, it’s like all of them giving you a dollar every so often. You with me?

That then drives the simple doubling of your 50 cents to another level, because you aren’t just doubling it, you’re trebling or quadrupling it, or even more. So if you see you’re making $2 per lead over a month or so, you know that you can now afford to spend $1.50 to get that lead and you’re still making 50 cents on the deal.

That’s how you should look at your online business.

You need buyers, and you need to know the numbers and do your sums to work out how much it costs you to get a new lead. It can be fiddly to do so and consume a lot of time until you get it all worked out so that your numbers update themselves. It can be a difficulty and I don’t know of any easy way of doing it, especially if there are new buyers coming in, and old buyers leaving. It makes it hard to see which lists are performing and what the real figures are for the new buyers unless you take the time out to segment and test each new group that joins.[br][br]

That’s a bit of a royal pain, but I can see that with MASSIVE numbers of buyers coming on board and where the money numbers are high, how important it is to do this.

Let’s get back down to earth.

From my perspective, I like to keep things as simple as I possibly can and I often don’t have the patience to put checks in place and work it all out to the nth degree. As long as I can see the exercise has paid for itself a few days later, then I’m a happy bunny. Because buyers often hang around for quite a while, sometimes years.

That 50 cents cost up front could have a massive return on an individual basis. I know that many people reading this right now have been on my list for years and have bought everything I’ve released in that time (thank you!) and will still be around (I hope) for years to come.

Where then, do we get the new buyers for 50 cents or less per lead?

From the Warrior Forum.

It’s like a busy street corner that’s populated with a special kind of person that’s in the Internet Marketing niche – it’s not the only one, but it’s the busiest. If you go looking, you’ll find busy forums out there for many niches where you can do the same or a similar thing.

From my perspective and probably yours if you’re a marketer, the Warrior Forum is THE place to find new buyers. They even have a special place on that forum where you can bang your drum called the Warrior Special Offers forum.

You can go there with a product you’ve created, put up a sales page in the form of a new thread and watch the buyers join your lists.

It costs $40 to run a WSO (there are other criteria too), and another $19 to use the Warrior Plus system – which is absolutely crucial to your list building efforts.

Up front you have a $59 outlay, and as long as you can bring in at least that much in sales, you’ve broken even. It hasn’t cost you a penny to run and you’ve picked up at least a few new buyers on your mailing list

In practice, as long as you run your WSO with 100% commissions and it’s a GOOD product or a GOOD deal, you’ll get LOTS of affiliates promoting for you that you’ve never heard of before. All thanks to the Warrior Plus (WSO+) system.[br][br]

The WSO+ attracts affiliates like this.

The seasoned affiliate may check out your WSO as a likely candidate, and as soon as they see the WSO+ button on it, they go to the affiliate page to check out the offer. If your product is part of a rising price sale and pays 100% instant commissions, then it’s a very attractive proposition to them.

What the affiliate will then do is place a request with you that will allow them to be your affiliate for this sale. If you wish you can then auto-approve them for all future sales if you know who they are or they perform particularly well.

They will then send you traffic to your WSO using their affiliate link, and some of that traffic will buy. The affiliate will get paid immediately into their PayPal account, the buyer gets their product, and if you’ve created your new list using Aweber or ImnicaMail, then WSO+ will auto-add them to your list. (They still have to confirm by clicking a link, but most do.)

That’s a win-win-win. Perfect!

If you’re lucky, enough casual traffic will find your WSO attractive enough to buy and you’ll make enough money to cover your WSO. In that case, the new buyers on your list haven’t cost you a penny. You shouldn’t bank on it though.

You should be very happy to break even, and ecstatic to make money on the deal. Remember that making your money on the front isn’t what this is all about. You can make your pot of gold after the event by either selling your new buyers one or more of your other products, or by being an affiliate for other vendors or both.[br][br]

Here’s the proviso to make this work.

You need your own products that you created yourself or had created just for you.

I said this a few years ago, and it was important enough for me to stick it to the top of my blog.

Product Creation, Traffic, List Building, Automation = Internet Business.

And then again a variant on that on another site I’ll be opening shortly:-

Product Creation >> Traffic >> List Building >> Business Building

It might sound obvious, or difficult, or crazy, or easy, or not for you, or whatever, but it works.

If you choose a style or niche (e.g. mine’s web apps, WordPress plugins and scripts) then go and find out what people in your niche want… they will buy. And if they like what you did, they will buy other things from you too as long as you address what they want.

You need the power of affiliates to really make it all work, and you turn them onto promoting for you by paying them 100%.

Okay?

Let’s just quickly run through it again.

  • Create a product.
  • Put up a WSO for it.
  • Use the WSO+ system to pay 100% commissions to your affiliates.
  • Gather your new buyers onto a new mailing list.
  • Repeat.

You then make your money by selling other products or memberships to your new buyers afterwards.

After you’ve gone through this cycle a few times and created a few products, then it gets easier as you can sell your original products directly to your new buyers as those products will be new to them.

That doesn’t sound too hard does it? It’s also fun and you learn lots of new stuff along the way.

This Friday we’re going to have a little sale for a brand new plugin that will make your WordPress blog go crazy evil viral all over FaceBook.

Phew!  That sounds exciting doesn’t it?

So what’s it all about and what’s up with the title?

I’ve done something I never thought I would.

I joined Facebook.

And the reason is because we’ve only gone and finally built a FaceBook plugin, haven’t we?  I knew it was only a matter of time really, but I wanted any FB plugin we created to have some tie in to WordPress sites, and it had to have a marketing angle of course, something to do with driving FaceBook traffic to a blog.

And so eventually Like Plus (Like+) was born.  No it doesn’t work with Google+ yet as we can’t get a Google+ account to configure and test it with, but as soon as we can and IF it’s possible, we’ll incorporate G+ into it as well.

(Update: I now have a G+ account thanks to Tim who *just* beat Ray to the punch. Thanks guys. I’ll try to put some time aside for it ASAP, I hae a couple of things I need to get finished first though.)

So I took one for the team and I joined FaceBook so I could use the plugin myself on my own sites.

What does it do?

Well, it’s a little like another one of my plugins called “Subscribers Only”.  In fact the principles behind it are very similar.

How it works is you can hide some important piece of text or HTML on one of your blog posts or pages, and it won’t be revealed until AFTER your visitor clicks the FaceBook “Like” button.

Aha!

So your visitor clicks the Like button on your post or page for a ZIP or PDF or whatever it is you’re offering, and ONLY then can they get at what they’re after.

In return, YOU get a new “Like” on their FaceBook wall, which is then included in ALL their friends FaceBook Newsfeeds…

Muhahaha!  😈

Sorry…

I’m sure you can straight away see how viral this can make your blog?  Hence the evil laugh.  😉

Their friends will see what they “Liked”, and some of them will click.  Some of them will “Like” it too  in order to get at your hidden goodie.  And it will then appear on their wall and their friends newsfeeds…  And so on.

You’d use it in conjunction with some killer offer you come up with to get people to Like it for you. Here’s the sequence of events:-

#1 – Once your visitor has liked it the content reveals itself – it could be a link to download a report they want.

#2 – In the background the Like then appears on their wall and in their newsfeed.

#3 – Their friends then get to see they’ve Liked something and may click the link to see what it is.

#4 – They read the offer and decide they want it too.

#5 – They Like it. Goto #1.

Viral or what? 😉

The way I see it is, it needs to be used judiciously.  If you put it on every single post and page then it will almost immediately lose its effect.  People won’t want to “Like” everything on your blog.

What you need to do is set up a killer offer on a page or post.  Something really good.  Something where visitors will go “Yeah! I want! I Like!”

I’ve tested it, had it tweaked and re-tested and then had it tweaked some more. I’m happy with it.  So on Friday 12th at 6.00pm GMT we’ll have a little rising price sale.

Now I *could* be really evil and require you to “Like” the post or page first before you can get the link to the sales page, but for now I’m just toying with that idea.

I may even require you to “Like” the page to reveal the buy button.  😉

Yeah I might just do that.  Or some variant on it.

Here’s another idea.

Maybe you get to see the regular buy button with the regular price, but if you “Like” the page for me, then you get to see the discounted buy button instead.

Ooh yeah!  There’s LOTS of ways you could use this when you stop to think about it isn’t there?

And the upshot is, it makes your page VERY popular.

NOW can you see how powerfully viral this is?

Really POWERFUL marketing stuff…

You may have noticed my slight absence recently – maybe not – I’ve been on a coffee fuelled race testing the affiliate scheme, prepping all the PLAhh stuff I’m delinquent on (I now have the PSDs  hurrah, it’s a miracle!), running a few test WSOs (I’ll share the results soon) and generally getting sites into a state where I can open them at last.

I’m usually quite busy, but it’s nothing compared to what I’ve been doing this last two weeks and I’m a little bit hyper right now as I gradually discharge some of my outstanding responsibilities.  Thanks for your patience with me, I’m really grateful for that, and I’ll publicly explain what’s been going on soon.

Anyway…

While we’re STILL waiting for MST007 to be completed (you may already know the sorry tale about this, but I’ve MORE to tell soon) the original designer has just about completed MST009.

As usual it’s really nice (my wife wants this one on a blog she’s putting together with a friend), and I think I might end up using this one on the PluginGreat site.  Notably, he’s gone for a different slider routine that auto-adjusts itself depending on how deep the image is.

This means that instead of being stuck with a fixed depth slider, you can now make your images as deep or as shallow as you like to suit both your taste and your blog.

When this sale is over, this theme will be the first one I’ll put on sale on the MST web site.

(Yes, at last I’ll be doing that too.  It’s ALL happening at once…)

Now then.  When I make it live, I’ll put it on sale for $27 and add the others as I go, but in this pre-launch sale it will be available to the first FIFTY customers for just $10.

Okay, so what’s it look like and what features will it have?

First, here’s a screenshot, middle click it for a slightly larger version.  What you can’t see in these shots is there’s a very nice crosshatch effect on the background:-

With this theme, you get ALL the nice pro-blogger stuff that the MSTs are becoming known for…

It comes with a good selection of pre-designed banners including blank JPEGs / PNGs and PSDs for them, plus umpteen sidebars, plugins (Ads Manager, Redirection, Squeeze Page Templates), and a set of theme options too.

The theme options allow you to turn on and off the slider, top boxes and top and bottom ad areas, change footer text and add analytics code if you don’t have the Script Manager plugin.  The theme as standard now also supports the WP 3.x features of custom menus and backgrounds.

It’s all done, I’m just waiting for my designer to upload the final version, hopefully tonight (Wednesday).
