Script Manager Plugin – You Should Get This

This is one of those unassuming but useful little plugins that you’ll end up using time and again across all your blogs.  In fact I’ve been trying to imagine how I’ve managed without it all this time.

It allows you to easily and simply add third party javascript code (for tracking and external scripts) to your header and footer area on your blog, either across all your pages and posts or only on some of them if you prefer.

You don’t realise how useful this is until you need to do it.

Traditionally you’d need to add the code directly to the theme’s header.php and footer.php (which can be fiddly), but as soon as you change or upgrade themes, your code changes are always lost.

And as I’ve had it pointed out to me, some themes will break if you go adding javascript to the header.php or footer.php, and now I’ve been reminded, I can remember that this has happened to me at least once.

Not any more.

Now you just add the code to either the global plugin settings, or on an individual post or page and the plugin will automatically insert the code into the right bits of your blog.  When you upgrade your theme, or switch to a different one, the code remains and everything carries on as normal.

So, like I said, this is an unassuming plugin that I think you’ll find entirely useful.

Or as Hamant Keval (hi Hamant) said:-

“That is one awesome plugin…”

I’m releasing 50 copies today at just $7.

When all 50 copies are gone I’ll set the regular price, but you’ll get it at a very nice discount until then.

Update: The price is now $17 until I set the final price which will likely be $27.

Frank the payment page is looking a bit wierd…. there’s no PP images etc. Is this normal now?

I’ve attached a screen shot of the payment page

@Valda:

I know what that is. The styling on the PayPal page wasn’t delivered to your browser. It seems to be something that I’ve seen happen with the latest versions of FireFox on all sorts of pages. So what you see is just the raw HTML part of the page without styling.

To fix it, hold the shift key down and click the reload/refresh button on your browser. It will then clear your browser cache and re-request the entire page from the web server. 😉

Frank, do you have any screenshots of the control panel?

Frank Haywood

@Paul:

It would probably be a good idea to do this in future wouldn’t it? 😉

In fairness it’s a fairly straight forward plugin to use, and almost doesn’t need any documentation.

Once activated you’ll see a new settings page with 3 areas where you can add your scripts which are applied globally to all your posts and pages. Then on each page and post, you see the same three sections where you can either override the global settings, or add extra code to be executed.

And that’s it. There’s nothing like this out there, and it seems like a bit of an oversight of the WP development team. I guess one day they might address it, but until then, that’s what plugins are for.

Frank
Been buying your plugins and themes. Also a member of your monthly PLR scheme.
What I would like to know is, as a member of your PLR club, could you make it clear what products you are going to offer to us members.
I ended up buying your re-direct plugin twice.
I have hesitated in buying your last offering, and this one, because of this.
I have contacted your support for clarification a week or so ago, but no response.

thanks

@Bill:

Hey thanks for that.

Yes, I’ve now stated hinting (if not directly stating) what product will be released through PL Ahh each month, and I’ll tell you more about that in a moment.

The redirect plugin was a *freebie* included as a bonus item to the latest Multiple Streams Theme. It’s likely that when the PluginGreat.com site eventually opens, I’ll offer it as a freebie there too in return for someone subscribing. But as it’s really cool little plugin (and particularly good at getting sign-ups ;-)), I decided to also release PLR to it via PLAhh.com so that you can use it to build your mailing list.

Asking the support guys about clarifying stuff like this is going to end up in no reply as it isn’t strictly a support question. They’re there to fix bugs, get you up and running with any tools and so on.

Okay, finally, let’s go back to what products will be released for December at PLAah.com.

#1 – First off is a 5 pack of really gorgeous sales pages. These are something I’ve always felt have been in short supply, and I’ve seen more than my fair share of crappy sales page designs these last few years. I’ve often thought when looking at some sales pages that the product idea was good but it was let down by the design. Even with some of my own products where I’ve purchased custom designed sales pages haven’t been that good if I’m honest to myself.

I’m now fixing all that. I have a brilliant full time graphics designer on my staff now and he has a lot of experience in putting together what we need. He’s going to be doing all the design for my new sites, and redesigning all my old ones. He’s the guy who’s been creating the Multiple Streams Themes designs and is also working on some squeeze page designs for us too. By us I mean you and me.

More on that project another time, but as a glimmer into what I’m doing I’m creating something that I’ll be giving to you for free that will enable you to both build your mailing list and make money from multiple sources at the same time.

It will take a while for me to get it just right, and normally I wouldn’t pay so much attention to detail (80:20 rule), but this is important for us both so I really want to do it all properly.

I hope I’ve whetted your curiosity buds with that. 😉

#2 – The second product is a WordPress plugin that one of the PL Ahh members (and a really cool marketer in his own right) asked me to do, based on a script that he’d seen.

When I saw the idea behind it, I immediately realised the potential of such a product. (I’m ashamed to say I was VERY tempted to keep it for myself. I’m only human…)

There’s no two ways about it. If you market this product carefully and take the time to rebrand it, you’ll make a lot of money from it. It’s been in development for nearly 3 weeks now and it’s almost complete.

Simply… It allows you to create “news style tickers” that you can load up with your affiliate links and embed on your WordPress blog.

That’s all I want to say about it for now but as I said above, the potential is enormous.

You know how some sites are just fully loaded with ads and are just a mess that you want to leave? Well, I reckon you could remove almost all other forms of advertising on your site, run this, and still get the same amount of click throughs.

I believe it’s THAT powerful.

I should have it available for test on Monday, and then we’ll start documentation, sales page creation etc ready for release towards the end of this month for December. 😉

Donna Maher

Hey Frank,

When will there be some documentation & instructions for use (and some suggested uses) for this product? Yes, I bought it – thanks for the GREAT price…. but lots of us are not PHP or script savvy and still see the value in this product.

Thanks a million!
Donna

@Donna Maher:

Yeah I’ll sort something out in the way of docs, although as I said to Paul, it’s not *that* hard to figure out. 😉

I think what I’ll probably do is put all the documentation online on the PluginGreat.com site so that we can keep it up to date with any changes. Watch this space.

-Frank

is this plugin going to be included in the next plahh subscription we are paying for?

Frank Haywood

@John:

No. 🙂
