We’ve been busy creating a new plugin based on something Amazon does after you’ve made a purchase. I only noticed this about 3 weeks ago when buying a new Kindle Fire HD (I love it).Amazon are damn clever at getting customers to do things like buy additional items and make reviews, and they employ some really smart marketing people and programmers to come with these ideas.
Right after you’ve completed your order they show you a little box where you can (in their words) “Share your purchase” by either Facebook, Twitter or email.
My wife and I saw it and we both said “THAT is BRILLIANT!” 😉
I shared my purchase on Facebook and got a comment from a friend about it very quickly. Marketing job for Amazon done and it didn’t cost them a penny. This works really well and you’re going to start seeing it on my own download pages very soon.
Just think about it.
Your customer is hot and pleased with their purchase, and now they want to show off at how they’ve got something new and very cool. While they’re feeling like that you give them the perfect channel to do it.
So that’s what we’ve been working on – a WP version of that “Share” box – and we’ve gone a little bit further.
With our new plugin you can optionally add tabs for Facebook, Twitter, G+, Pinterest and email. And it comes with a nice selection of colour schemes too.
It’s still being finalised and then there’s some test to do, but I think I’ll have it out by this time next week if not before.
You can leave a comment or ask questions below. 😉

Looks like a great idea. Hope it’s not too expensive!
Hi Annie,
You should know I’m never too expensive with the first few days of a new product. 😉
-Frank
First, before I comment on this plugin, I wanted to make this testimonial about Frank and his products. I have been involved in internet marketing since 1996 and “seen all kinds” as you can imagine. I feel Frank stands “head and shoulders” above the majority of his competition. He not only offers quality products that perform but he backs it up with truly personalized service. As a consequence, I cannot help but recommend Frank and any product he offers.
As far as the plugin, “COUNT ME IN” when it’s ready! Great idea!
Hi John,
I had to wait a day before answering this as I was so blown away. I still don’t know what to say now other than thank you.
-Frank
Hi Frank,
Seems like a great idea. I’ve been getting stuff from Amazon and have seen that line and thought Hmmm. and here you have it and I am about to have it. Thank you.
be well,
Isidro
Hi Isidro,
I really like what Amazon do and the way they do it – they have some of the best minds in the world working on getting people to buy stuff, leave reviews etc and I keep a close eye on what they do. There’s no doubt that this particular method works as it jolly well worked on me and I’m a hard man to get to do things like this. 😉
-Frank
Hi Frank
Look interesting..
When will you be releasing it
Edwin
Hi Edwin,
It’s almost done but I’ve thought of something nice I want to add to it, so I’m in two minds over whether to release it with the new bits in or add them afterwards. It won’t be too long either way. 🙄
-Frank
My vote is to release with the new bits if it is not going to take too long. It’s always nice to get more than you expected. I like to over deliver when I ship my jewelry by always including something neat and unexpected.
Hi Isidro,
Yeah I was leaning that way too. I’ve just got the programmer doing something for PLAhh.com members (a really nice plugin), and as soon as he’s done I’ll get him to make the last couple of changes to the Share Your Purchase plugin and it’s out. Then we’ll make that one nice little change I want to do it that *should* help get people to share. I hope. 🙄
-Frank
OHHHHH Frank….you’re cookin’ now. (from Home Alone 2 – but appropriate here as well).
This is a perfect addition to a project that I’m working on for a good friend. He’s been asking if there was a way we could do what Amazon does. I’ve been “tinkering” with different code to see if I could accomplish it. Now, I can get back to business and just use your plugin.
Fantastic!!!!! Thanks for making this.
-James
Hi James,
Thank you and… It’s what I’m here for. 🙂 🙄
-Frank
Another very cool and useful product, Frank. I don’t know how you keep doing it but as a long-time follower of your blog, and purchaser of your products, I know this one will have the same mark of excellence that I’ve come to rely on. I look forward to the release.
Hi Derek,
Thank you and yes I’m looking forward to getting my hands on it too – I’ve only seen prototypes in test up to now – so for me tomorrow’s the day. 🙂
-Frank
Hi Frank
Sound like a cool little helper.
Will it be possible to use that with any kind of wordpress page or will it only be possible to show off purchases?
Mike
Hi Mike,
Any page at all and any content too.
So you could also use it on a page after someone has just signed up to your mailing list and put something like “I’ve just signed up for Frank Haywood’s blog posts and got me some freebies. 😉 [link]”
Or at the end of a “pillar” article – “I’ve just read a really useful article about xyz. [link]”
Or at the end of every post as part of your writing session – “Read this, liked it. [link]”
…and so on. It doesn’t just have to be on a download page.
-Frank
O.k. That is great – count me in 😉
Oh, now you’ve done it. With this simple comment, you have probably quadrupled the value of this plugin. I can see many more uses for it now.
– James
Hi Frank,
Sometimes I think you’re reading my mind!
Count me in!
Best,
Diego
Can’t wait Frank, thanks 🙂
Me too… Looks like another “winner”…
Also, all the comments about Frank, w e l l…. They’re absolutely T R U E!!
BUT => don’t get ‘too’ smug, Frank…
Just keep the ‘excellent’ products coming…
BE BLESSED!!
Hi, any plans on creating a plugin like this for Zen Cart? If so, please email me at the email address I entered.
Cheers,
Mike
Hi Mike,
I’ve recently been asked by someone else if I intended to produce Joomla versions of any of my plugins and now you’re asking about Zen Cart.
Hmmm… 🙄
Branching out into other platforms could well be a good idea. I can’t promise anything yet, but it’s certainly food for thought, and I’ll certainly think about it.
-Frank
Hi Frank
What does the change to “like” instead of “share mean? You wrote people will not be able to add their own comments, does that mean their friends if they see the “like” action cannot comment on that? If so that would take out most of the viral potential.
Or does it just mean they can not add any custom text to their entry on their timeline?
Mike
Hi Mike,
Yes it’s the latter. As far as I can tell the key difference is that “Share” allows the person doing the sharing to add their own comments. While “Like” doesn’t let them do that. Anyone viewing either on FB can still add comments, “Like” and so on as normal so none of the viral component is lost.
If enough people ask, or one person gives me a really good reason to add in the (optional) ability to share then I’ll do it, but as I write this I personally don’t think it’s worth the potential hassle. 😉
-Frank
o.k. great. In that case I think “like” is the way to go!
Hi Mike,
Well… We’re now looking at including both for today. 🙄
However, my programmer has just told me that Share has been deprecated by Facebook.
From Facebook:-
What happened to the old Share button?
We deprecated the Share Button when we launched the Like button, because the Like button improves clickthrough rates by allowing users to connect with one click, and by allowing them to see which of their friends have already connected. For reference, the Share button documentation is still available here.
So eventually Share will disappear anyway. But we had a chat this morning and we’re going to put it in to take advantage while it’s still around.
-Frank
Yeah Frank. Share was actually changed to “Send” – which is FAR MORE POWERFUL.
I work with a photographer and have built him a “Deals” site (know anyone that wrote a Deals plugin? 😉 ) When someone buys the deal, they could then “Send” the deal to their friends. Who would they “Send” it to? Their photographer friends that might actually be interested in the deal. HMMMMM Sounds like Social Marketing doesn’t it?
That’s the value of Facebook eliminating the “Share” but replacing it with “Send”. Rather than focusing too much on something that has been deprecated (and I like the idea of having the “Share” – believe me, get your programmer to look in to “Send” as it would have much more focused value for most people.
Looking forward to getting this today Frank as my client has a FREEBIE that he’s going to be promoting next week to grow his list. This would be perfect on the download page to get others to like/share it.
– James Dunn
Hi James,
Aha! The plot thickens. Thanks for that. 🙂
Share today then and Send after next week (another project to be completed first). I’ll think about getting Fast Group Deals updated too as that would be quite useful wouldn’t it? 😉
-Frank
<>
Yes, it would be quite useful. 8|

Hi Frank, this is great product. Can I resell it or become affiliate to promote your product?
Hi Dedy,
I’ll announce the affiliate part of this over the weekend. 🙂

Hi Frank,
This is a nice plugin, only with personal license?
How much extra for developer license?
Petur
Hi Petur,
A good question. This weekend deal includes a client/flipper (developer) licence. 🙂
It’s a shockingly good bargain…
-Frank
Frank Thank you for the Developer Flipper License You are going to make people very happy with the Price and Licensing. I just bought this wonderful plugin.
Have a wonderful weekend
Petur
Frank, can u have a demo for the plugin? Thanks!
