Passwords, Problems, And SmartDD Lite

You know how sometimes things don’t go according to plan?

Well, this is one of those times.

Everything was ready to go on the SmartDD Lite resale rights page, and I do a couple of test purchases and notice a couple of little bugs in the nickel script that we hadn’t spotted before.

So I try a couple of things, and find it’s just making things worse.

Okay, enough’s enough. David is going to fix the problems this evening, and tomorrow the nickel sale goes live.

I’m really sorry about this, but it’s just one of those times when a battle plan hits real combat and everything goes a bit wrong.

So tomorrow at 1.00pm GMT (8.00am EST), if you’re on my blog notification list, you’ll see a password protected post go live here with details of where to to find the nickel sale for SmartDD Lite. The starting price will be $1.07 and rise by 5 cents at every sale.

At 3.00pm GMT, I’ll remove the password, so you’ll be getting a 2 hour head start on my other lists.

To all those people who have emailed me, made comments here on my blog and raised support tickets…

I apologise.

Like I said, sometimes things don’t go quite according to plan.

Resale Rights to SmartDD Lite

Tomorrow I announce resale rights to SmartDD Lite at a drastically reduced price in a nickel sale.

If you’re one of the first 18 people, you’ll get it for under $2.

If you’re one of the first 48 people, you’ll get it for under $5.

Even if you buy at $15, you’ll still be getting it cheaper than the final price on the official launch day when resale rights will be sold at $27.

Note that this is for resale rights, NOT master resale rights.

If you don’t know the difference, then read my earlier post:-

http://www.frankhaywood.com/rr-mrr-plr/

Why is resale rights such a good thing to have?  Well, it means that you’ll be able to immediately start selling SmartDD Lite yourself and earn money by doing it.

You’ll also be able to earn money just by GIVING AWAY your copy of SmartDD Lite, because the resale rights version comes with the ability to embed your SmartDD affiliate link inside it.

SmartDD is currently at version 2 and sells for $97 in the members area of the SmartDD.com web site.  The commission payout for SmartDD v2 is 50%.

Confused?  Don’t know what I’m talking about?

Okay, here we go.

The original SmartDD is now at version 2.

Shortly, I’ll be releasing a cut down version of it called SmartDD Lite.  Hence the “Lite”…

SmartDD Lite is based on the original version of SmartDD and until recently, that version was selling every day of the week between $67 and $97 depending on when you purchased it.  All the people that bought the original version in the last 12 months have now received a free upgrade to version 2.

Because I know that many start up businesses can’t afford or don’t want to shell out $97 to do delivery and download protection, I took the old version of SmartDD, tweaked it a bit, and I’m now releasing it as SmartDD Lite.

And tomorrow, I’ll be releasing it with RESALE RIGHTS for under $2 for the first few people to grab it.

This will be done through a NICKEL SALE.

Okay, “what’s a nickel sale?” I hear you cry.

Simply, every time there’s a sale, the price goes up by 5 cents.

The price will start at $1.07 for the first person fast enough to get there and click the buy button.  The next person gets it at $1.12, the next at $1.17 and so on.  It will take 18 purchases for it to go over $2 to $2.02.

So the fastest clicker gets the lowest price.

I’ll run the sale for maybe 48 hours, and then close it down.  After that, resale rights will be set at $27…

Going back to how you can earn money by giving away your copy of SmartDD.

Yes, you can sell it for whatever you think is reasonable, and many people will be happy to purchase from you.  But you can still make money even if you give it away.

How?

Simply by embedding your affiliate link for the FULL SmartDD now at v2.  When someone installs SmartDD Lite and decides to upgrade to SmartDD v2 to get all the swizzy new features we’ve just added, they’ll click YOUR affiliate link, and you’ll get the commission.

Isn’t that cool?

Well I think it is.

Tomorrow, here on this blog, I’ll make a password protected post with details of where the nickel sale is running.

I’ll drop you a line if you’re on the blog notification list.  After I’ve sent the email out with the password, then if you aren’t on the list, you’ll miss the sale and you’ll have to pay $27 if you want resale rights.

If you aren’t on the list, go to the home page of this blog and look over on the right.  Enter your name and email address in the boxes and click the button.

Then tomorrow (Tuesday) you’ll get an email from me.

Resale Rights for SmartDD Lite for Under Two Dollars

I’ll be releasing SmartDD Lite in a few days time. This is effectively version 1 of SmartDD with a couple of tweaks.

When the site officially goes live, I’ll be selling it at $7 for personal use.

I’ll also be selling resale rights to it, somewhere between $17 and $27. We’re still talking about the final price for resale rights, but I think it will be settled at $27.

But before I do that, I’d like to offer you the chance to get resale rights at under 2 dollars by offering SmartDD Lite in a nickel sale.

I’ll be starting the price at $1.07, and raising it by 5 cents with every sale. So the first 18 buyers will get SmartDD Lite for under two dollars.

The resale rights version is a special version that you can embed with your affiliate link to the full version of SmartDD. The personal version doesn’t have this embedded link.

Until we released SmartDD v2, I was selling copies of v1 every day of the week for $67-$97 – that’s what you’re buying when you get SmartDD Lite v1.

Once you have the resale rights version of SmartDD Lite, you can sell or give it away with your affiliate link embedded inside it. Every person you sell or give it to that then installs it, will have your affiliate link for SmartDD v2 at the bottom of every page.

I’ll announce details of where you can find the nickel sale on Tuesday at 1.00pm GMT (8.00am EST) here on this blog in a password protected post.

I’m also considering selling a few copies of Private Label Rights to SmartDD Lite.  This would be for no less than $300.

With Private Label Rights this means you’ll be able to completely re-skin it, give it a different name and call it your own. You could easily find someone on ScriptLance, Elance or Craig’s List to do this for you for less than a couple of hundred dollars.

If you’re interested in purchasing PLR for SmartDD Lite, then go to my support desk at:-

http://www.Vendiva.com/support/

and raise a ticket under the “personal message” department.

I’ll keep a note of your details, and let you know when I intend to do this.

SmartDD v2 Now Live

The new version of my digital delivery solution SmartDD (v2.00) is now “out there” and available for download. V2.00 introduces a number of new features, with many “under the hood” changes to pave the way for future enhancements we have planned.

There have been a number of downloads over the weekend, and so far no real problems. I’ve created the first of the videos – how to upgrade from an earlier version – with more to follow.

I’ll run through the basic usage of SmartDD first, and then go into how you can turn any web site / template into a database driven shopping cart just by pasting in a few lines of code.

Please be patient while I build each of the videos in the set.

The free version of SmartDD is still at v0.98, and I now intend to release a free version of v2.00 limited to 5 products in the inventory. This is still very useful if you’re just starting out as you can install multiple times on different web sites to handle the individual products.

I’ll also be releasing the v0.98 (slightly tweaked) full version, upgraded to v1.0 of SmartDD Lite. This will be a master resale rights product, completely unrestricted, that you’ll be able to give away or sell yourself.

You’ll be able to embed your affiliate ID inside SmartDD Lite, sell or give it away, and if the person who is using your copy decides to upgrade to v2.00, you’ll receive commission on the sale.

Watch out for that, I’ll announce it in the next 2 weeks.

What’s The Difference Between Those Who Do And Those Who Don’t?

I’m talking about achieving here.

The difference is attitude.

Those who don’t have one or more blockers that stop them from achieving. These blockers usually boil down to the individual’s perception and attitude.

Yes, I know you’re probably saying to yourself, “oh no, not another Positive Mental Attitude article”. Well, maybe this is a little different. Maybe not…

Have you noticed that the people who gripe in life are ALWAYS griping? Nothing is ever right for them. They’re always unhappy with something, and expend a lot of energy looking for the next thing to moan about.

“I can’t come up with a product idea.” “I’ve got my product idea, but I can’t get started.” “I’ve created my product, but I don’t know how to create a sales page.” “My sales page is up but I can’t get any sales.”

It’s just worn me out writing that and thinking in that way. It’s so negative it makes me feel ill just experiencing it, and I’m sorry if it’s taken you the same way.

How do people get anything done with an attitude like that?

Well, in most cases they don’t, but there are always some that do, and then they hit a “blocker”.

A blocker is that one thing that they can’t get past. Correction. The one thing they think they can’t get past.

All they need is a little help to change their thinking.

Let’s take the final example above. You have a product, but no sales.

The first question to ask yourself is “do I have traffic?” and if the answer is no, then that’s the thing to work on.

There are probably as many traffic sources as there are ways to make a million dollars.

Here’s a few…

  • JV partners
  • Forums
  • eBay
  • Squidoo
  • YouTube
  • StumbleUpon
  • Article sites
  • Blogging…

I don’t think I need to go on – just ONE of those sources worked upon and used exclusively should be enough to bring in traffic to make at least a sale a day.

So… You match your traffic source together with your product.

For instance, you might be selling something that helps ebook sellers deliver their ebooks. Such as SmartDD. 😉

Then JV partners and eBay would be the first / best way to go, and the way to build affiliates. Once you have enough affiliates, you reach “critical mass” and they do all the selling for you.

Now… As always, the devil’s in the detail.

You may know about all of the traffic sources above, but how do you get traffic from one of them? Well, they’re all different and need to be treated in different ways.

But choosing one and trying to get traffic from it is probably a good start.

This is where many people fall flat on their face.

They try… and after a month or 6 weeks, nothing’s happened.

They decide that it’s impossible to do.

Despite the fact that people are milking traffic from many of these sites, some people don’t get immediate success and that’s it, they give up.

(I blame all the BS artists out there who get people excited by the prospect of it being “easy”. When the real world hits and they find it isn’t as easy as they were led to believe, then the depression sets in.)

I’ll put you right now so you don’t get the wrong idea.

It isn’t easy.

Anyone that tells you it is has either got to the nice place where affiliates are now making sales for them, and / or they’ve forgotten that to start with it was actually quite hard.

See my post on Your Big Steel Ball.

Let me give you an idea of the kind of sales you should be making – these are pretty much standard numbers.

If you get 100 mildly interested visitors to your site, you will make 1 sale.

If you make less than 1 sale per 100 visitors, then you may have a poor product, or more likely, your sales page is at fault.

If you make 2 sales per 100 visitors, then you’re doing pretty well.

3 sales and you have an excellent combination of product and sales page.

More than that and it looks like you’ve found yourself a highly qualified (well targeted) traffic source.

In most cases, if you have traffic but no sales, then your sales page is crap.

I have a site that I’ve never done any work on since I set it up a couple of years ago. It was a practice for me when I was learning. (I think the domain may have just expired.)

I’ve never promoted it, I’ve never done anything with it since the day I set it up. To my knowledge, I may have submitted it to Google once, and that was it. There are no graphics other than the PayPal button, it’s text only.

To my amazement, that site has resulted in a sale about every 3-4 months… A tiny amount of traffic must be finding its way there, and every so often it results in a sale.

I’m quite pleased with that…

All I did was follow a few rules about setting up a sales page.

All I did was try.

All I did was give it a go.

I went in with the right attitude, not knowing whether it would work or not. I believed it would, and I was more pleased with myself for having done the site as it was good practice for my next one.

You can do the same as me. Be pleased with what you’ve done, be pleased with what you do. Don’t get upset or decide “it doesn’t work”.

If you want to achieve, if you want to build a successful business, then you have to give it your very best attitude.

Moaning when things don’t magically work out won’t achieve anything.

Being pleased with any of your achievements puts you in the right frame of mind to go do some more.
