Screen Sharing With Quick Screen Share

Posted on by Frank Haywood

Here’s a 5 minute overview of a very useful, free, and really easy to use screen sharing tool.  I apologise if my voice is a bit gruff as I still have a sore throat.

      Hi Chris,

Thanks, I was *told* I had to do the video as people would appreciate it and I’m glad I did. :)

Frank, that’s a great tip. I hadn’t seen or heard of Quick Screen Share before, but it could really come in handy. Plus its a great price, Free!

Frank great share thank you. Can you share how you did the virtual machine part of your setup at some time?

    • Frank Haywood says:

      Hi Pierre,

Will do. It’s a bigger deal so it will probably have to be a series of short videos, with a big chunk cut out while waiting for the OS installation to complete as there’s little point in showing that part. Just getting it all started should do, but even that’s quite easy to do too.

Frank, can you tell us the benefits of using Quick Screen Share versus Skype which I currently use to share screens? Thanks.

    • Frank Haywood says:

      Hi Roberta,

If you have a premium version of Skype, you can share both your screen and your webcam at the same time through your Skype call. If not, then you can do either a video call, or a screen sharing session but not both together. Also with the free version of Skype screen sharing, you’re not be able to give control of your screen to the other person and vice versa. I’m not sure if you can with the premium version.

You can sidestep those limitations by starting up a Skype video call and then using Quick Screen Share to share your screen too. If it’s going the other way and you’re helping someone out, then you can view their screen and ask them for permission to take control so you can show them how to perform a task on their machine.

It’s the next best thing to sitting next to them. :-)

    Hi Frank~
Can you or anyone you know anyone that can make me a sales page for JV Zoo for a reasonable price? I am not all all tecky and don’t want to make my own… If you can, can we chat n the phone or Skype?

    Thanks Kevin Casanova

    • Frank Haywood says:

      Hi Kevin,

I have a couple of very nice PSD sales page designs I had made for my own purposes, and I’ll consider releasing them separately. I think they could be exactly what you’re looking for. Give me a couple of days to sort something out.
