Today at 6.00pm GMT (1.00pm EST) I’m releasing a brand new plugin called Alert Box Ads. It’s very cool, easy to use and comes with full Developer (Client/Flipper) rights.

You know those little “alerts” you get that sometimes pop up out of your system tray? Or you’ll see a box appear bottom right on a web site as you scroll down the page?

You can’t do anything but look at them can you? In other words they work, and they work really well. 😉

And this is what the Alert Box Ads plugin will allow you to do. Here’s a short video showing how it works:-

Let’s take a look at the features list.

  • Unlimited alert ads.
  • You can set a global alert ad for every page and post.
  • You can set ads for the Home and Archive “special” pages.
  • You can set an individual alert ad for a page or post.
  • You can disable alert ads on individual pages and posts.
  • Alerts can include HTML and links.
  • Alert box ads can be set to redirect to a URL when clicked.
  • 3 methods of displaying alerts:-
    – Immediately
    – After a set number of seconds
    – When the visitor scrolls down.
  • Create your alert ads using the standard TinyMCE editor – easy.
  • 5 different designs of alert ads included, more on the way.

I hope you agree that it has a really cool and well thought out feature set.

The 48 hour sale for Alert Box Ads will start today 11th March at 6.00pm GMT (1.00pm EST) and will cost just $10 during that period, so don’t miss out on the low price while it’s available.

Hi Frank, Looks like a must have plugin. Simple and straight forward. My only question, where is the buy button?
Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick,

Thanks for that. 🙂

The buy button will appear automatically at the start of the sale at 6.00pm GMT (2.00pm EST/EDT) courtesy of the magical Content Replacement plugin. 😉

Hi again, Thanks for the thanks. Sorry I should have worded things different. The where is the buy button was tongue in cheek. But the information given is still good for those that missed it.
Rick.

Hi Rick,

Aha! Well I *did* wonder if you were serious but it’s sometimes difficult getting intent from just the written word, so I erred on the side of caution. 😉

Smilies are okay to add to intent which is why I use them a lot, but they don’t have all the subtlety of the human face. 🙄

Yep – you’ve done it again Frank. I definitely agree with Rick – this is a MUST HAVE Plugin.

My clients are going to LUV this one.

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a while my friend – Hiring VA’s, signing new clients etc. etc. etc…. you know the drill.

Thanks for another outstanding product.

Hi Frank
I bought the plugin and it is great…. However the X to close the box does not work.. Could you Please check into this..
Also in future updates could you have the link open in new window or have a choice
Thank You
Joe

Hi Joe,

Yes I’m sorry about that, the plugin designer got the wrong end of the stick when creating the ad designs and included graphical Xs and other icons that simply don’t do anything and were never intended to. The plugin only puts up alerts and it wasn’t meant that your visitors should interact with them other than to click the links and the alert box itself.

I’ve now replaced all those designs with much more attractive ones and there are no Xs or other icons or graphics on them.

MUCH better.

Do you have any pictures of the new box, the last one was not great looking! lol

This plugin is kinda cool, in theory it seems like a great idea, bought a copy by the way, but it’s kind of annoying, especially that the user can’t close it, just gets in the way, forces a click but at what cost, the annoyance of the visitor.

Any plans on allowing user to move where the bubble shows up – many of my WordPress sites have ‘live chat’ tools in the lower right corner so I can’t use as is.

Frank,
I’m using SmartDD Lite and haven’t had any problems with it, but I remember you saying that a new version was in the works. How long will it be before the new one is available do you think? By the end of this year? Just curious.

Thank you,
Jim

Hi Jim,

There’s a new version of SmartDD (v4) being intermittently worked on by the programmer (Paul) in between other things. I’ve played with the test version and it’s VERY cool and has had a speed up and now works like lightning. I would estimate that there’s another 40-60 hours of coding to do before completion and Paul told me just before Easter that he’d be on it again in “a few weeks”. Paul has his own timetable and I can’t do anything about it, so we just have to be patient, although I can barely wait to get even the latest test version updated onto my own installation.
